Ant Gallery – April 2024

My Photographer

I’m sure you have wondered whose my personal photographer? Back in 2008 it was Model Mayhem model Wei-Ming that played the photographer part for a few shots! The photo taken as landscape vs. a portrait for some reason, and later for the shot I cropped it to a portrait. Taken at Seattle’s waterfront, just a few blocks from my OK Hotel Studio that I rented for half of a year in 2008. The strange bridge like structure in the background is the famous Seattle’s Alaskan Way Viaduct that would be removed in 2019.

Looking back on the messages sent to the model, the theme of the shoot was for the model to be cute and play a shy girl in Japan dressed as a Sweet Lolita. I sent her candyfruit a Japanese Lolita shop for wardrobe ideas as well as modeling style. Like many who are into this genre, they usually do sew their own garments, since few local clothing stores and sewing stores offer Lolita notions. This shoot like many of mine was a model test and future for more shoots, but Wei was pretty busy with school and work and unfortunately this would be our first and only shoot.

The shoot started in the unfinished DIY soft CYC wall studio and then moved to a few different locations in the building and then moved outside and this shot middle to the end of the shoot. It was only a one garment model test, and she only brought the single Sweet Lolita look, but not at all traditional footwear for the genre. Larger images and a few more shots that weren’t part of this post can be seen on my Japanese ameblo blog.

The first day of the show starts on April 3rd, the opening is Saturday, April 6th at 5 pm. The last day of the show is April 26th. The show is free, but donations are always welcome.
