Showing a print at Ant Gallery in December.

It’s been a while that I have showed at Art/Not Terminal Gallery and this will be the first time I have showed at their 3rd location at the Seattle Center International Fountain Pavilion. The photo above I priced a bit high, mainly because it was created in the end of the 90s with a toning process that I no longer have. Discovered the toning technique … Continue reading Showing a print at Ant Gallery in December.

Studio history…

The first studio wasn’t even mine, it was a studio of a fashion Photographer I met in the middle 80s. His studio was in a combination office and apartment building. He lived in the apartment above, but the office was separate from the studio. The next studio was when I went to Seattle Central Community College for their commercial photography program in the late 80s. … Continue reading Studio history…

Getting inspired & working on a new studio…

Been watching Fashion Photographer Peter Coulson‘s youtube and getting inspired about my garage studio I’m working on. The idea of shooting in the garage has been on my mind for maybe a week or two. Ceilings are high enough for the backdrop to disappear, but there is a good deal of hanging crap around. Still, that stuff shouldn’t cause much of an issue 🤞🏼. How … Continue reading Getting inspired & working on a new studio…

New lenses – Brightin Star, Sigma and Tamron.

I got the Brightin Star 35mm f1.7 in 2020 because I was getting tired of a Kiron 28mm f2 on an adapter that stuck out just too far. As you can see, the Brightin is quite small and fits really nice on the a6000’s body. Other benefits with this lens it offers being able to take pretty close shots w/o using closeup filters. The next … Continue reading New lenses – Brightin Star, Sigma and Tamron.

Got some broken cameras from ebay…

The Sony NEX-6 was the first broken camera although the seller stated it was in good working order, but they had used with its auto settings, so they didn’t know that it’s control dial was broken. Around the same time I got an e mount to md mount adapter because I wanted to see if I could use any of my old Minolta MD Mount … Continue reading Got some broken cameras from ebay…

Got another camera the Sony NEX-3N.

I got it because I was becoming more and more frustrated with my old Canon Powershot G9, and it’s small, noisy sensor. Sure I could get away with up to ISO 400 with the body but even that ISO gets pretty noisy. The Sony NEX-3n offered ISO 200-16,000 with an aps-c sensor for close to the size of the G9. Sure I thought about getting … Continue reading Got another camera the Sony NEX-3N.

2 Shows this April!

Starfish Studios: Retrospective Back in 2008 I was a member of Starfish Studios… I was only there for a month, and this was mainly because the studio had no heat (space heater) and its windows didn’t shut (suicide windows). Other than that, I would have loved to stay longer at Starfish Studios because the building was the famous 619 Western building in the heart of … Continue reading 2 Shows this April!

Got a seasonal portrait studio job…

Every successful photographer I’ve known whose making a living in photography has worked in them. In my past I have desired to be the photographer but oddly ended up as a lab rat instead. This time the advertisement said that I would be both a photographer and sales person, but most of my job was selling, customer service and very little photography. Maybe it’s a … Continue reading Got a seasonal portrait studio job…

Sorry for being so late with the entry…

I have done some shoots, but far less than previously because since moving from Seattle in mid 2011 I’ve had less to photograph. Folks are just different when I live, and one of my main models who used to travel down to Olympia moved to LA for fashion design school last summer. September I ventured to Seattle for my 5th Bunka fashion college show. Went … Continue reading Sorry for being so late with the entry…
