I didn’t know what to expect since I’ve never taken part of the Seattle Open Shoot events until now. The event happened at Washington Park Arboretum on not only nice but warm day close to last days of Winter. The issue with this is that the park was unusually busy, which didn’t leave those who drove much choice to find any parking, so many went home. I took the bus because I’ve been using it for decades to go wherever I desire and no need to worry about parking.

It was a fun group to shoot. Both experienced models and photographers and lots to learn. A few models in this shoot were their first time cosplaying. I brought a bag of way too many paper umbrellas and only one was used, but it fit with the cosplay and the cherry blossoms in the background. More of my photos of this shoot can be seen at my ameblo blog.

A number of photographers used tablet (mostly iPad) powered model releases, and I had my old little paper releases (been using since the late 80s). The only issue with paper is legibility of the models writing, which a few I wasn’t able to read (only 2). Days later at home, I noticed I had an older free release app known as Model Releaser on my Amazon Fire HD 10 (2021), but it had advs. It did offer being able to pay to get rid of the advs, but I didn’t like that it would only display in portrait mode (have an attached keyboard). Would have preferred that it offered a landscape setting and who knows maybe the paid version offered that? While looking up the release program that I wasn’t able to find it because it seems that it is an abandoned app 😭!? Snap & Release came up a very affordable at $1.99 plus I like that I can just run it on my iPhone 😉! Now I can be like everyone else 😉! Another plus about this app, I was able to find how to add the text of my old little releases 😉!
