I got it because I was becoming more and more frustrated with my old Canon Powershot G9, and it’s small, noisy sensor. Sure I could get away with up to ISO 400 with the body but even that ISO gets pretty noisy. The Sony NEX-3n offered ISO 200-16,000 with an aps-c sensor for close to the size of the G9. Sure I thought about getting a Canon M body but at the time I got the nex-3n I would only been able to afford the body and a lens adapter… Well, mainly got the nex-3n for model scouting pre-tests. Sure, the g9 can work fine for that, but because of the issue of the small sensor it’s hard to create desired depth of field.

Sony Nex-3n photos look pretty good in the highlights even up to ISO 16,000 sure underexposed parts seem to get a bit noisy but not as bad as the old Powershot g9 got.
