I got it because I was becoming more and more frustrated with my old Canon Powershot G9 and it’s small noisy sensor. Sure I could get away with up to iso 400 with the body but even that iso gets pretty noisy. The Sony NEX-3n offered iso 200-16,000 with a aps-c sensor for close to the size of the G9. Sure I thought about getting a Canon M body but at the time I got the nex-3n I would only been able to afford the body and a lens adapter… Well mainly got the nex-3n for model scouting pre tests. Sure the g9 can work fine for that but because of the issue of the small sensor it’s hard to create desired depth of field.
Sony Nex-3n photos look pretty good in the highlights even up to iso 16,000 sure underexposed parts seem to get a bit noisy but not as bad as the old Powershot g9 got.
